Government's refusal to criminalize marital rape has been termed as "regressive" by several women rights activists but experts supporting the Centre's stand feel there is no need to tinker with the law as it might be "misused" by some to settle scores. 

means you cannot understand that what human needs is not understandable now the new need is that  the legalizing the marital rape...!!!
come on people please rise up from the orthodox thinking of the women commission that the every thing in this world is against them.. now what is this ??
seriously?? the people are also supporting this and some countries have also approved it ??
just think about the dowry act that even the supreme court of india is also accepting that 33% of the cases are fake..
now what do these people now have to say that ..
now think logically that what is the need for stating it as rape ?
you people have to understand this that these people are in the institution of marriage  then how can it be termed as rape ??

thats is just the insensible demand, even how can they just demand for this ?
but no more and just what the hypothetical protection of females ?
this is just the step for the complicating the law and making the overlapping of the one law over another with no relevance ... is that the demand from the smart human beings that are fighting for the womens need or is that just the another act to use it for their politics which can be termed as  "DIRTY"..
but they have to understand it that the law for the domestic violence is self sufficient for these type of doings and they need not worry and just fight for the more reasonable one not for the stupidity..
because there are the womens who are just filing the fraud case of dowry then isnt there should be a law to punish them for  wasting time  of the courts and give them them the imprisonment for the mental torture done to the male partner in the marriage..
now i ask you that what will be the point of the women commission  on this issue ??
